what do you mean with small? I have one Carmina belt in 36 with a 32 waist (and 34 for most belt brands)
Yeah, this is exactly what I meant. I too had to take a 36 in a Carmina belt for a 32 waist when I normally take a 34 belt.

I have a question for anyone that owns a Carmina belt. Can they be shortened? Trying to decide on what size to get.

There are different kinds of belts, one is easily shortened the other not so much.

You should ask carmina what type they currently sell!

I go TTS in Oscar, little bit of a generous fit but not so much that I'd size down.

Some one told me that I should go same size as Simpson. Now I’m confused haha
Wait, Oscar and Simpson same size? ?‍♂️ They’re to opposite of the spectrum. Oscar generous round toe super casual. Simpson one of the narrowest last that almost everyone sizes up in. Oscar, if anything, size down if you like a snug fit, TTS if you prefer a more accommodating fit (aka not snug)

So, you will go same as Rain?

Hm, well, I own one pair of Rain that I went TTS in, but I actually need a tongue pad with them due to the high instep. I have an odd foot, kind of lower volume and fairly average width at the ball, but with a lot of toe splay so I gravitate towards lasts with spacious toeboxes.

I had a pair of +0.5 size simpsons that were a bit too spacious for my tastes, so I'd say, for me personally: Rain size = Simpson size = Forest size.

The best way to know is to actually wear and see what fits best. My first boot I tried in the Paris store was a Jumper on an Oscar last. I ordered a Balmoral boot and I was taken aback at how different the fit was because of the closed lacing system. It took about 5-8 wears to begin to feel comfortable, mostly because of pressure on the front of the ankle and top of the foot. It didn't seem to help that I got the Victoria sole which is notably stiff. I have a low volume foot but a medium to high arch. My Allen Edmonds size 5 last shoes are amazingly comfortable in 9.5 but I went with the 8.5 Oscar. Now the boot is perfect.

Hope this helps.

Guys, question, Rain vs Oscar, which size to go for Oscar, same as Rain?

It all depends on your foot, really.

I take a UK9 in most shoes, and I take a UK9 in the Oscar last.

However, I need to take a UK9.5 in the Rain last. A UK9 in the Rain last is wearable, but it's not an ideal fit and a UK9.5 is more comfortable for me, both at the ball of the foot and over the instep.
