You and I appear to be the same size. How is your instep?

I have so little basis for comparison of my instep, I don't really know... It's about 3 1/4" inches from the floor at the highest point. 10" all the way around. There's about 1 1/2" from the highest point that only drops about 1/4", and then it angles pretty regularly to my toes. Does that help?

wow sounds like my c&j northcote, i can fully lace them and still have some space which is good, also i am considering these. [IMG] i am currently concluding the cordovan boot model Model 80184b is on the oscar last and the above boot is on forrest and both lasts are similar and require my US size -1, is that all correct :)

^ That is, to the best of my knowledge, all correct. If you are between sizes, though, subtracting one from the larger of the two is probably the way to go.

It is continually amazing to me how sleek both the Oscar and Forest lasts are, in spite of their width.

For anybody who isn't aware, Epaulet is going to run a pre-order only Carmina chestnut brown shell cordovan balmoral boot with perforated cap toe and Dainite/leather hybrid sole (rubber on the part that touches the ground, even lower profile and smaller studs than regular Dainite soles) in May for $1000 with complimentary lasted trees.

I don't know whether Oscar or Forest is wider, sorry.

This particular makeup is unavailable from Carmina or anywhere else—and I'm not sure Epaulet will be making any profit on these boots, since they started as a forum group buy. It also includes shipping (and lasted trees), so the price is a little closer. But yeah, I know what you're saying. I just thought some people following this thread might be interested.

While the Forrest might technically be described as an average (or wide) width, the most noticeable thing I notice when wearing them (captoe oxford) is how tight/snug they are in the lacing area (perhaps the tightest of any shoe I've ever worn). And while the toe box looks wide or roomy, when wearing, it feels the same to me as the Robert and Alcudia (narrower lasts).

    Just my two cents...

It's on the Alcudia last. One of the prime examples of a shoe that can't be found on the website but is in stock.

Pretty annoying. Sent email to Carmina 36 hours ago. No reply.

Yup. Did you put the model number you're interested in in the subject line? Might help.
