These are the swatches for the leathers you mentioned, the swatches in the picture are tanned grain, brown grain and chestnut karengrain. Any Grain leathers with the antique finish start from the tanned grein and are finished by hand.

Carmina’s suede is excellent and I don’t think you can go wrong.

I have two pairs in brown suede:

I think either could work for your intended use, but especially the captoes. Still a fairly formal shoe but a less-formal material. I like that juxtaposition (I have three pairs of bal captoes, one is suede and one is grain). I love the loafers but that is stretching it with a suit.

I might also consider a suede Adelaide, perhaps with a medallion. Take that with a grain of salt, though - I am partial to Adelaides and have a lot of them. A chukka or Chelsea could also work. Or all of the above.

Thanks for that! One can really see the antiquing on the chestnut jumper boots in comparison to the tanned grain swatch or the chukka boots you linked to. Is the brown grain jumper boot also antiqued? It looks to have some colour variation in comparison to the swatch and the Oxford Pala Vega.

PS Do these Oscar Jumpers have a storm welt?

A quick shot from this morning of my vegano double monks out in the wild. I'm a huge fan of how structured leathers look when polished.

Nice shoes. What leather are they? Grain? Tumbled?

Thanks. It's called vegano calf and is a very soft calf leather with some structure in it. Not quite a country grain but somewhere in that neighborhood.

How are the commando soles? Are they noticeably bulky?

Are the rubber studs noticeable when wearing them?

From the feedback we have had in the office, these soles should be very comfortable and the studs should not be noticeable when wearing them.

Do find two photos of models featuring a Carmina Comando sole and a Carmina model in a Dainite sole. It is definitely a chunkier look.
