yeah, it was dainite with stormwelt. I had a few other dressy balmorals so went with a more casual style.
I think Carmina initially came out with this model as a dressy style so avoided the hooks.
If you dont mind, hooks will definitely help as putting on this pair takes as long time as a button boot, lol.

They did, but it ended up going to my junk mail. I think it took like 6 or 7 days. They came on the same day as a pair of Carmina Jodhpurs that I ordered from Carmina....which explains the post that night when it seemed like I had overdosed on sugar...or renovateur. I had a Carmina overdose; two new boxes from them was too much to take...lol

when you see that Soller last in person, you'll probably give it a consideration too.

You will need different perspectives to have a clear idea. Give me some time and I will post you some comparatives pics of Forest Vs. Oscar (Do not have Robert but I liked much). No idea about EG 82.

This is my first wearing of the soller last and I have to say they are fitting very similar to my 82 last's; the only thing missing is the arch support. That is something I in particular need with my flat feet; but if these Carmina had arch support, they would be perfect.

Sorry for the pics @Mister12 but at least you will have a better idea. Being rounded lasts and similars, both lasts at the toe cap are really nice from the top. However the toe cap of the Forest ( suede in a 8.5uk) is not as sleek as that of Oscar (9 uk) or Robert from the sides IMO. Make your own choise though.

For a bal boot Robert is preferable to Forest, IMO. It's just that bit sleeker and more elegant.

Nice! I so love split toes (I have 2 in calf by AE). Your post sent me looking at Carmina and I see they have one now on the Forest in chocolate suede.

    Robert,
I’ve seen some pics of you Robert last boots and they do look incredible. I’m trying to come up with something a little less elegant. 99% of the time I’m wearing slim cuffed chinos and the Robert last May be a little to formal but then again maybe not. Any feedback you have is very much appreciated sir.
