Inca has a higher instep than Simpson indeed. But the instep on Inca is still lower than Rain or Soller in my experience.

I think it is a matter of personal taste. I don't care much for cordovan leather because I think it looks too shiny overall. And I like cleaning and polishing calf leather with a nice shine on the toe which is not near as much fun with cordovan leather. But again others will beg to differ.

Carmina coupons aren't a thing, period.

A black oxford in cordovan is a bit non-traditional - cordovan is traditionally a more casual leather. In 2017, are you wearing suits often enough to own 2 pair of black captoes?

Sorry I'll be more specific, there is the 15%off code for Memorial Day, is this a standard practice with all holidays.

AFAIK it is not a standard practice for Carmina. On black friday there is often a promotion as well.

Hi guys - quick one - what's the difference between calf leather - boxcalf and vitello ?

How does it compare to kid calf?

Looking to order a pair of customized monkstraps to use for work. Travel a lot, so something that's hard wearing and easy to polish up!

Keep the calf ones would be my advice. If you're looking for another pair of black shoes you could consider a half or full brogue. Some say black brogues are a contradiction but I don't agree. I own a pair of Skoak's EB 'old world oxfords' and they are great. Jeeves store has a magnificent black full brogue from Vass on offer, but I deviate...

Stick with black calf for oxfords.

Black shell for boots, longwings, or PTBs.

Cordovan isn't inherently "better" than high quality calf. It's a different leather with very different properties, historically used for combat, hunting, or riding boots. Also for sharpening razors...

I believe kid calf is like soft buttery leather. Vitello is soft pebbled leather. Not sure about boxcalf. I'd think calf leather best choice for traveling and lasting longer since it's not as soft?

Does Carmina offer any navy grain leather? It's not available on customization page as a leather option, but I know that Carmina offer more leather options than available on that page.
Was thinking of a make up in navy cordovan and navy grain. I have an email out to them but I don't think I'll get a reply before tuesday from them.
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!
