Considering they’re black I’d say it’d be less of a chance that other maker would screw them up....I know, sorry couldn’t help myself :crackup:
I do have a pair of supposedly 1st quality aldens NIB (eBay ?) with quite the egregious QC error. But I’m scared to post over there for assistance.

I don't think anyone would tell you that's acceptable but might be SOL if you bought them from ebay

Edit: But yes, I'd take it up with ebay if that wasn't in the pictures or description

If this picture was not provided in the eBay listing you should be able to get satisfaction with eBay. They almost always take Buyer's side.

I'd reach out to Alden directly. I am not too sure about their status at the moment (quite possibly shut down) but they were pretty motivated to make it right for me when I'd reached out with concerns about the finish on my #8 boots. Worst they can say is "no" but they seem very customer service focused in my extremely limited experience. Btw, I did not end up pursuing their offer for me to send them back to be refinished.

To his credit, The seller was someone I had bought from in the past and very apologetic and offered a return or partial refund. I elected to keep them with the refund and wear them, I thought at the time. They are a gorgeous blue suede and an epaulet special edition. Then COVID happened. I still haven’t taken them back out of the box yet. ? Maybe when this settles down I’ll put them back up on eBay with the picture of damage. Or call Alden. (12 D Hampton last Oxford brogue, real cheap, pics upon request.) ?

I just have my color 8 Carmina boots pending repair with them and now my wrong size problem. I’m not gonna take on another shoe problem, problem.

@Carmina
Can you post a swatch of vison suede calf compared to vison vogue suede and vison repello?

Also curious if you will be offering color #4 to those of us next on the waitlist since many users did not participate in the last round.

A pair that has been forgotten and been left in the closet for a long time. Being home all the time now has led me to rediscover this pair. Decided to burnish the toes a bit to make them a bit more versatile from the tan. The only unfortunate thing is I had sized these a half size too small, which was why they had been forgotten. Been trying to stretch them width wise at home with a stretcher, hopefully I'll be able to getore wear now, even if only worn sockless.

Single monk split toe.

Those were my first carmina purchase and still among my favorites. I really like the silhouette of those monks.

They were also one of my first pairs of Carmina. Unfortunately, this was near the beginning of my journey into well made shoes so I did not know exactly how to size properly. To add insult to injury, i was able to try these on in person when i bought them. :brick:
