I would like to know how the 416 last compares to 234, is it slimmer or similar in terms of length and width?
Maybe @Noblekostas can help me to sort it out, or anyone who has experience with the 416.

Hi, I’m not even sure which one is the 416. Do you mean 316 by any chance?

Nope, it’s the 416 as for the following boots from Herring, made by Carlos Santos.

I got some great advice from Ana Santos in the past regarding how lasts fit: [email protected]
I wrote to Ana Santos asking about the differences between 234 and 416 lasts. This was her answer:

Last Z416 has a little bit less instep. There is less room.
Width Z234 for size 8: 100mm
Width Z416 for size 8: 95.5mm
Still, last Z416 is considering with a good fitting.
According technician expertise, the last Z416 has more room for the toes. That’s why might fit a bit better than Z234.
Hope I have helped you to clear your doubts.
Thank you
Best regards

Ana Santos

Maybe this could be helpful for future buyers. :)

What do you think about these boots, by Carlos Santos?
I like them for tough weather, but I am not quite sure about the instep strap...

Not a fan of the strap, looks a bit overdone to me

I think it looks cool and different and the leather is probably the most unique point, but if you think it’s too busy it’s probably gonna stay that way.

here is my winter kudu grain boots by santos in comparison plus some others.

I feel like these boots have a bit of an identity crisis... Maybe even without the strap. I'm also having a hard time figuring out what's going on the with apron stitching that's allowing it to stretch back over the quarters. Personally, I think I would pass on these.
