The 401 has replaced the 160 and fits similar.

These are exquisite. Is this analogous to the 401 last? Just trying to figure out which model this is, as I can't tell if the 160 last is still available.

That is what I thought untill I saw Herring shoes has upcoming models on last 160 on their site. Seems CS still makes the 160 last if requested.

401 and 160 do not fit the same though. 160 has a much lower instep (too low for me in boots) than 401 and 401 has more toe room than 160.

I find 401 sits right in between 160 and 234. Also see some comparison pictures I posted earlier in this thread around the time last 401 was introduced.

Yes, on a technical level you are right. The 401 has a higher instep and is slightly wider. For me they fit the same though.

The 401 is actually slightly wider than the 234, but I find the latter a little roomier around the toes.
