Although I'm leaning towards TLB Mallorca for my next pair of shoes, I'm still considering Carlos Santos.

A while ago I've read through this thread and I remember someone mentioning that patina shoes don't age as nicely as non-patina shoes. Could someone explain this to me? Show the differences with pictures?
I don't agree, 75% of my shoes must be patinas. I feel they age great. Here's my double monks from 2018 in wine shadow. I say they age great.

I am not thrilled with how my TLB vegano leather looks but that's my personal preference. Both are great options and you should not worry about anything. In the end, pick the one that is more visually appealing to you. Patinas add a bit more flair and flamboyance in a way or a special touch.

Those look wonderful!

I've also had a look at your website, any chance for CS handgrade full brogue Oxfords coming soon?

To keep the thread alive, some pictures of a recent GMTO from the Noble Shoe, being the split toe derby. This is model 9131, in this case mounted on the new(er) 401 last with a Dainite sole (I think this model was available in the past on the 234 last).
In this GMTO, we had option for the usual 15+ patina colours that Carlos Santos offers, plus the choice between calf or grain leather.

I opted for the grain version, and the Douro patina colour. The shoes were delivered some weeks ago and fit perfectly straight out of the box.
The 401 last is pretty generous, and take for this last 1/2 down from my 'usual' size (whatever 'usual' means, it is not a science). The fitting is good. However, as can be seen from the lacing, the instep is equally generous (note: for Oxfords on this last, the lacing shows a more prominent 'V').

All in all: I am very happy with this pair. The grain plus Dainite adds some casualness to the shoe, as does the colour. The shoes are a good choice for more wetter periods when boots are probably a bit overdone and some degree of formality is intended.

dear all,
Looking through Herring's own offerings made by Carlos Santos, I noted a model (name Longdon, a suede-calf semi-brogue, see here) that looks sweet to me.
It is mounted on the Z458 last, and unfortunately I don't have experience with this last. The internet also doesn't reveal too much on this last.

If any of the honourable visitors of this thread has experience with this last, any insight would be kindly appreciated!

First, thanks for sharing the photos. I think Santos makes some very nice rich looking grain. And the Douro patina is a rare choice, it’s great to see in the wild.

Santos has tons of lasts you have never heard about probably and this is one of them. I have seen and handled it but I can’t really give advice on it I’m afraid. I will ask Ana Santos and see if I can help.

The grain is indeed very nice, and quite smooth (not as bubbly as others).
Thanks for the help, and hope you will get some more details!
