1. Hi. We moved systems, and because it was impossible to achieve feature parity between the systems, we opted to archive the old B&S threads but allow users to read them so that they can put them into our new B&S system.

There is a support thread if you have any issues.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

These aren't for sale by me, but looks like Chuck is making way for the new line of dress shirts: Carlo Franco on ebay

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it odd that the message being conveyed here seems to be "I would like you to buy my shirts and, as an incentive, I'll knock 25% off my usual asking price. But, just in passing, I'm going to hang onto the $45 MOP stays that would normally have been part of the "package" if you would have bought a shirt prior to this sale."

I don't get that at all, IMO the shirts are a deal at $119 and a great one at $89, who cares if you don't get the collar stays at that price?

How are the Carlo franco shirts cut?

Chuck, what is the yoke measurement of a 15.5 shirt?

    thanks.

Too bad you didn't have more 18x37, Chuck.

I don't get the appeal of collar stays made from MOP, silver, gold, or unobtainium. What's the advantage over simple brass or even sturdy plastic? It's not like anyone ever sees them (certainly not the @#%$ cleaners who press shirts with the stays in place).

Pretty slim, if my memory serves me correctly.

I've never seen plastic stays rigid enough to do the job very well. I don't see any reason why they couldn't be made, but I haven't seen any. The disadvantage to the various species of metal stays is that their sharp edges tend to damage the fabric that forms the stay pocket of the shirt. If the shirt lives long enough, the stay pocket may eventually blow out, and you're sunk. MOP stays are rigid and will not damage the stay pocket. On the down side, they're slippery enough that they don't stay put in the pocket as well as I would like (hey, Chuck, whatever happened to engraving a crosshatch pattern on the reverse?). As for nobody seeing them, you will see them, and that's enough.

Pretty slim, a 17" shirt has about a 44" chest according to Chuck.

Mine is the slimmest cut shirt I have (it's also my only Italian shirt). The MOP stays are fun, but I understand why Chuck isn't sending them along with his clearance shirts. Of course, they don't cost him $45, he's listing that as an equivalent retail. I see Hilditch & Key sells MOP stays now at ~$37/pair.

It's going to be interesting to see Chuck's new line of shirts.

(BTW, Chuck may be slow to respond to questions on the board right now as Jill's mother has terminal cancer. He's pretty distracted with that.)
