Cardigan too small?

I recently bought a Gucci cardigan size Large, which is the size I always wear from Gucci. When I am standing(having the first and the last two buttons unbuttoned) it's fine, but when I'm sitting the parts of the cardigan move away from each other and the t-shirt I'm wearing inside can be seen. I don't know if I am making sense, but does that mean the cardigan is too small? Thanks

Moving Apart like this shirt?

Then yes it is too small. Or you mean the bottom unbuttoned part moves away because your legs pushed it apart?

Yes, lol. The style is tighter and the buttons are smaller than usual so it does not hold the cardigan together very well, but oh well, I guess it is too small. I'm guessing stretching it won't help either.
