This has potential. That concept art is pretty awesome. Looks like it probably has a lot of plot elements set during WWII or the Cold War era...not too familiar with the comics though.

Sorry, those aren't concept art. I just got a artwork of Falcon and Cap together.

This movie should be set right after the Avengers so outside of flashbacks of Bucky/Winter Soldier being turned, the film will be set in the present time.

I'd imagine so, assuming he doesn't die like Bucky did

I'd believe it when I see it. He might make a cameo at some point in A2 but I can't imagine him having a big part. I mean War Machine was not even mentioned in Avengers iirc.

War Machine would have been mentioned if he was white, that's for sure.

Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot about that fact. I mean they already had a crazy cast and the character development was lacking. There were too many iconic figures on one screen that it would've been a stretch to add another set of fly-fighting sequences. I mean the whole thing was already pretty much iron-man focused, as narcissistic as Stark is, that it would've been Iron-man 2.5 had War Machine joined the fight.

So yeah, going by that it would actually be better to leave him out.

Speaking of Falcon, anyone know his backstory or origin? I can see them pulling a Bourne Legacy with the whole "you weren't the only one" thing.

Haha well hollywood is making a turn towards equality, even if slowly. It probably had more to do with script writing and less to do with race, as Marvel likes to make movies in sequence.

Don't tell me they couldn't give the audience a quick throwaway line about him ending some conflict in the Middle East. Natalie Portman got like a minute of exposition and they even showed a pic of her.

Well you have to look at the comparison between the two characters. War Machine is CRUCIAL to the iron-man plot, whereas Portman...not so much. What is she the world of Thor, the love interest of Thor scientist who tried to re-open that bridge, in spite of Thor finding alternative means.

I assume all of that will be further explained and portrayed in detail regarding the IM3 storyline, as opposed to a few lines of dialogue thrown in.

Same thing happened in TDKR with the Joker, no mention, no flashback. Only in this case it was out of respect for Ledger.

Also, Iron Man 3 is the first next Marvel movie to drop next summer after the events of the Avengers. So the storyline will segue quite nicely into IM3

A little recognition for the black man is all I'm asking.
