Can't Open Firefox -- PC it is Already Running

Gives me the error message says "Firefox is already running but not responding. To open a new window you must close the existing one". Well I went into processes after hitting alt ctl del and there is no Firefox running. Can't do an uninstall because it says FF must be closed first. HALP!

Instead of checking apps, check your process list and look for firefox.exe

yeah that's what I did.

Turns out there was a corrupted chk disk file and restarting and running chk desk fixed it.
