I'd rather re-do my ties 20 times, but do it with my own hands and be proud of the result.

Looking at their little video is interesting. They don't solve the problem of the tie not wanting to form the dimple initially. This supposes you can get the dimple in there, and this holds it in place. For me, when I have an issue it is because a tie does not want to dimple initially, or forms a side dimple.

I'll play devil's advocate here. It doesn't come across as the worst thing I could own. I can usually tie a necktie w/ a dimple well when I want. However, there are some materials/linings that do not hold a dimple well. I, for one, tend to prefer a dimple in my tie. This item could work in those situations.

Sure, you could buy all ties made of the best material w/ seven folds and quality lining that tie a great knot and hold a dimple.

Why do we use removable collar stays? Why not sew collar stays or a heavy lining into the collar points?

P.S. In the Webelos (part of Cub Scouts) handbook, 4th and 5th boys are still taught how to tie a necktie. I think they should not earn that award unless there's a damn fine dimple in that necktie and the tip of the tie just touches the top of their belt buckle!

I prefer to date synchronized swimmers and borrow her nose clip for my tie dimples.

Without her trusty nose clip, she may well bubble and sink,

but damn, my tie dimple will look good all day long.
