Good afternoon,
I ve bought a fantastic Canali jacket and was excited. The jacket was originally for 920 EU so I brought it home in complete excitement. It was immidiatelly spoiled by my great family, they looked at me and Canali jackets and told me - bheeh, your jacket is striped. It will look like an orphan.

So my striped jacket Odyssea begun:-D.

So I wrote to Canali if they have the same trousers or at least the fabric, but the fabric was sold.
I went to Zegna MTM and their tailor told me: Look, this is obviously lovely jacket. It s business jacket but you can t use for business because you don t have same trousers. What about to add similar, but plain trousers MTM and you can use it... ehh...for a dinner time, for example...

Fortunately the stripes are not too wide, typical italien bank stripes...so I hope I can use it? And when? What you would reccomend it?

I hope I don t need to burn it.

I am sending also the REDA fabric picture which we found in one tailor shop in Prague. So now is my jacket in a closet and I can t even to have a look at:-/.

With regards Jan from romantic Prague

Hi janjanjan123,

I hate to say it, but this is indeed a difficult if not lost case as it does look like the jacket was intended for a suit. If you don't want to give up though, my advice: DON'T try to match the pattern in the trousers, this will just look like a bad mismatch. Both fabrics shown are to structured or try to mimic the pattern and that is doomed to fail. Go for a solid trouser without much structure and, if you want to stay with greys, go either significantly lighter or darker to create a contrast. A mid grey or dark anthracite might work, you could even try a navy blue. Best is to take someone whose taste in clothing you trust together with your jacket to town and try mixing and matching it with various trousers in a well assorted men's clothier to see what works.

If you can still return it however, that's what I would do... a friend's advice.

Nice answer: you can try the scabal fabric.
Honest Answer: Lost cost, donate or resell jacket.

possibly have it tailored to a slim fit and wear it with lightly faded black/gray jeans for club-hopping...otherwise, what anachronist said
