Having a bit of a problem searching for info...

Can anyone let me know what exactly the "Kei" range from Canali is? Is it a mark of the fit or the construction?

Seen a nice grey patch pocket wool SC for £199 from £750. What's the quality like? It's made in Italy, horn buttons, unstructured.

    Thanks in advance as usual...

My understanding is that the "Kei" range refers to Canali's line of unstructured jackets. Usually partially lined, soft shoulders, patch pockets. Very well made, construction on par with regular Canali, but with different styling. Very SF approved.

Yup - the jacket stood out from the rest styling-wise. I'm 99% sure it had spalla shoulders. I was in a mad rush so couldn't really spend much time looking at it.

If it fits well I'll probably go for it.

+1. I have one bought on b&s and love it. That's a very good price, too.

Another SF meme is born. "Spalla" means shoulder.

But yes, they are done in the spalla camicia (shirt-sleeve shoulder) style.

Canali Kei name stands for the first letter of the word knitwear.

I have Canali Kei blazer - very nice! But its shoulders have some padding and actually are not so soft as Isaia or Boglioli. So I wouldn't call it completely unstructured.

Don't feel bad- I've heard it used that way a few times on this board. A few more times and it would have entered the official iGent vocabulary.

Kei's can be fully or partially lined. The ones I have seen come in both the drop 7 body (Modello 13xxxx) and the 'no drop' body (Modello 15xxxx).

They all have lovely soft shoulders and just a bit of canvassing in the chest. As Grigory said, they are 'inspried' by knitwear, or cardigans.

There were some 'Kei' suits made last year, but sadly these are now discontinued.

Kei jacket is one of my favorite aside of Boglioli "K" jacket and Borrelli. Aesthetically, they are all different.

Mine is a cashmere wool blend, completely unstrctured with
no shoulder padding. It is very soft and sweater like. I guess some are
structered and others not. Either way, great jackets.
