Canali Jacket Sizing

Really after some advice on Canali jacket sizing please after I have seen a nice jacket that I need to take a closer look at, unfortunately not able to try it on.
Im normally a UK44R so should I go for an EU54 or do I need to size up to EU56 as I am of the impression that Italian manufacturers tend on the smaller side......may be wrong!!
Anyone have Canali jackets please that can offer advice.

From my experience with Canali the 54 should be fine (I'm a 42L and take a 52L). Keep in mind though that Canali has many fits. Your best bet is to compare measurements against one of you own jackets.

It depends on the model. Is it the Milano, Kei, Capri, etc...?

My true size is US38 EU 48 but in Canali I size down one full size. Request measurements if you can and compare to your jackets. In my experience upper end brands like Pal ZIleri, Canaly , Attolini, Kiton, Brioni etc. all use vanity sizing. Which means size indicated on the label is always, without fail, full size larger than the actual size. Of course my exp. is limited to my size range EU48-EU46.
