Okay,

I'm new to the forum and hoping you guys can help me out.

I've got a fair number of suits. Most aren't designer label and I'm not a high end kind of guy but I love the look of Canali suits. Problem is of course, I don't really want to pay 1500 bucks for a suit and I can't seem to find it anywhere for less unless I look on Ebay.

Personally, I'd rather actually be able to try on the suit and make sure that I like it. Moreover, its tough to find exactly what you want online anyway.

I've got a navy suit that's okay but it doesn't fit as well as I'd like and its a three button. I'd love to add a two button solid navy to my collection and if it were a Canali that would be awesome. Anyone know where you can get some deals in the Toronto area? Any help would be appreciated.

I figure it would be nice to have at least one great suit in my wardrobe, might as well be navy and it might as well be from a designer that I like...

Thanks.

I saw Canali suits at Holt Renfrew Montreal for less than $1000. They are tagged "Holt Renfrew" as well as "Canali". Don't know if this is a bad thing, apparently Canali makes suits for them.
The one I tried on was a navy blue pinstriped with 2 buttons.

Harry Rosen will likely have deals atm. Here in Calgary their product is discounted 30%+.

There is a store called Jerome's along Yonge just north of Eglinton. Right now they're having an up to 50% off sale and they do carry Canali, you may want to check them out.

In Montreal the best deals at discount time on Canali are at Holt's.
I would try there. Full retail on a decent fabric Canali is over two K, so Chrome's tip on 50 percent at Jerome's is worth looking at too.

I've never seen any Canali at Holt Renfrew or Harry Rosen other than mainline. I didn't even know they had something lesser to be honest.

Wait till after Christmas and you'll find Canali at 40%+ off at either of these places. Also try Holt Renfrew Last Call, their discount outlet, at Vaughn Mills Mall. Might be worth the drive.

Well,

So far I've checked into the places mentioned above. Either the places don't have solid navy or they don't discount it. I still haven't managed to speak to anyone at Holt though.

So far its 1695 everywhere I've looked. Most people have said that they just don't discount solid navy and it never reaches the outlet stores because they're so in demand...

So basically, it looks like if you want solid navy in TO, you're going to pay 1695...

Update 2:

Holt had them, but they no longer have 42R. Sold out... sounds like some good deals there though.

I live at Yonge & Eglinton and wanted to mention that the aforementioned Jerome's store is always worth checking out. Really great store and Jerome definitely provides great service.

Yeah, I tried them. They didn't have solid navy on sale unfortunately.

I guess Canali's suits are good enough that they don't have to discount them. Not the solid navys anyway.

It would be somewhat rare to see a solid basic navy (or charcoal for that matter) at a deep discount - everybody needs one or two in their wardrobe, and if the stores can sell them at full retail they will. The Canali's that you usually find sub-$1000 will be the more unique ones - stripes, windowpanes, patterns etc.
