Agree with most of what you said. Even Zegna changes up their models every few years.

The one recent success for Canali has been their Kei range. It's been doing pretty well for the company.

I buy only Kei and none of the boring stuff. Canali is also finished much cleaner than Isaia but understandably a more boring alternative. Actually I have gotten to the point where I can tell it's an Isaia whether it's an Eidos or their sub brands by the amount of loose threads inside the jacket.

Totally agree. I have two Kei jackets and love them. One was a thrift purchase and the other was $400 purchase during a Barney's Warehouse sale. That said, there's no way I'd purchase them at full retail. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I'd rather go Formosa at NMWA.

But a lot of people including myself has been disappointed with Formosa for a number of reasons which I'm not about to discuss here. Honestly even if they are of the same price I'd go with a Kei everytime.

Canali's Capri model is a nice soft shoulder alternative that has a more traditional length and is lined. Like you said, Canali does have a clean look. Have been tempted to get an MTM done in their Exclusive range in a Capri model.

I never owned Formosa tried once I like it but find it a bit blended.

I tried Kei once liked it but don’t love it enough to buy it (too many suits/sports coat, need a bit more reason then it fits well).
