That's cool. What size did you go with?

Oh, I forgot to include the size, lol. I have a medium.

I just placed an order for a medium CG Manitoba. Can anyone comment on the fit and warmth of the jacket?

    Buy first, think later. :D

I never thought I'd buy a CG jacket, but the Manitoba doesn't have a fur ruff and the patch isn't as gaudy.

    I'm hoping that's the case.

Yeah, who knows. If they haven't been reduced already, I fear the worst that we won't see one for quite some time. Which is a shame, because $745 is steep, and I'm not sure if the purchase is accompanied by the lifetime warranty that CG is.

It's just odd that such a new company would ask for that much. You'd think they would perhaps try to be more competitive the first or second year out and then raise prices once they gained steam popularity wise.

Also, looking online at the 3 places where you can purchase CMFR, they have plenty of stock available. Which makes me hope a sale on their line is coming sooner vs. later.

When I got my CMFR jacket, I was told it came with a lifetime warranty. The seam on the fur trim on my hood was showing slightly, so I emailed them and they shipped me a new hood free of charge. I've heard of people getting 25% discounts by emailing them. Couldn't hurt to try.

Maybe that 18% bump is starting slowly and now?

(Not an official online CG retailer but you do find these guys listed if you search for Colorado stores stocking CG gear from the official site.)

It's a shame, because I liked the idea of supporting Canadian business.

Does anyone have experience with Kanuk? (Not sure if I asked this already as I don't recall receiving any kind of input.) I was out with my brother helping him exchange Christmas gifts and happened to drive by a local retailer. It's piqued an interest in me. Kind of a more mature alternative without the flattering cuts of the fashion-foward brands, but they appear to be well insulated without any ghastly branding.

I was thinking world wide not just NA, as there is a massive price difference from the us prices to the rest of the world.

I bought my chiliwack via Weaver and Devore 8 years ago, at that time with shipping via Arizona to Denmark it was still less than half the price 313$ vs. 785$.

You got one before they became mainstream. Now to find the next big thing - though that might be harder with all these new designers charging starting prices that are even more expensive than CG. Living in Toronto, I don't mind spending a bit more on a jacket that'll keep me warm and will last.

I wonder what the price cap will be fore CG jackets. They keep raising prices, but people are willing to pay those exorbitant prices.
