Can you tell the shoulder is a little small in this overcoat?

I made the mistake of sizing down in this overcoat because of a few reviews that said it ran giant. One reviewer said the 42 was like a 46 or 48. I don't know what he was smoking, this thing is 24" pit to pit which is only 6 inches of ease for a 42 inch chest. Unable to get the actual dimensions from the online retailer prior to purchase, I took a gamble on a 42L when I normally need a 44 in most garments. Of course by the time the coat arrived, the 44L is no longer available.

The coat has plenty of room in the body, but the shoulders are a bit narrow for my shoulders. It is hard to tell from afar, but up close my shoulders go beyond the break. An inch more would be ideal. I struggle with fit because my shoulders are somewhat broad but I don't have much of a gut, so end up with a lot of material in the body of coats. I'm 6'1".

I have included 2 pics, one with my hands in the pockets to gather the excess material in the body. Do you think the shoulders look alright? The coat needs to be steamed because it came a wrinkled mess. Also apologize for the joggers and socks, I don't wear shoes indoors and am just in loungewear.

Looks fine.

What are you wearing underneath? Sweater? T shirt? Shirt?

Thank you both for replying. I am wearing a t-shirt and a button up. It will definitely be more fitted in the shoulder and chest when layering, versus loose and roomy. I think I will keep it since the wool has a really nice, soft hand.
