Absolutely, unless you're one of those insecure losers who beats up kids who do feel like having fun in other ways. I never understood those straight edge kids who basically loved beating the **** out of people who drink and do drugs.

I had somebody ask this same question to me a couple months ago. I don't drink or do drugs and I tend to hang around people that dont. The guy asking me the question (he called me a straight edge but that phrase refers to punks only right? I'm not a punk but maybe the phrase just means anyone that abstains) said that he can't even start his day until he has SOME sort of substance in his body.

I said man I just live life and love it, thats what I do. If you feel you need to be drunk or high to enjoy life, I'm sorry but you're just missing out. I love the outdoors, I jam on my instruments with friends, I play paintball regularly, I enjoy eating nice food, having good conversations with friends, hang out, enjoy the movies, and anything in between. None of which I feel the urge to do while intoxicated. And there are plenty more activities out there, but those are just the ones I get into regularly.

So yes you can have fun being a straight edge x and the how is up to you. I have hobbies.

Yes, and everyone who occassionally 'substances' is incapable of enjoying things in the way that you do.

I do all those things when I'm intoxicated on something... and I do it better than when I'm not! There are lots of things I would never even think of doing if I wasn't on something. You're missing those experiences too.

Substances - if they're not working for you, you're doing it wrong.

Why is being straight edge considered cool when it really isn't?
