Can you bring a full-size umbrella (Briggs) on the plane?

Flying to Europe in a couple weeks, really want to take my Briggs with me. Is it possible to bring it to the cabin with you?

I hate airline security nonsense as much as anyone, but so far they have had the presense of mind not to harass me over my umbrella.
