Can these be worn with a suit? It's being sold on ebay for a good price and I have trouble locating a good shoe in this color and in this size.

On a side note, I'm having tons of trouble finding a pair of shoes that I like in my size. I'm an 11ee in Ferragamo's (tried them on as this was the only way to confirm). I much prefer dress boots to dress shoes. If you have some advise I'm all ears! My budget is less than $1,000 Canadian Dollars (I'm in Toronto).

What kind of suit and for what setting? They are too light for conservative business environment but could be worn with some suits in a fashionable context. I wear similar shoes from Meermin with a seersucker suit sometimes, for example.

Thanks for the replies.

Formal suit, sometimes without sports jacket. In sales and meetings. I wanted something close to walnut color for grays and blues.

I'm having a very difficult time locating shoes in my size, 11 ee/eee. And being limited in Toronto doesn't help.

If you are in Toronto, you might try going to Leatherfoot.

Somethine by Carmina falls well within your price range, and you can go to the store and try them on for size: http://www.leatherfoot.com/search/results?cat=shoes-carmina-shoemaker

Some of Carmina's lasts are fairly wide, but in order to know if they would fit your foot, it would probably be best to try them on in person. You are an unusual size, but a number doesn't tell us the shape of your foot, the volume, etc...

That one went under the radar. Thanks much for the link. Their Carmina shoe in Inca last comes in a 10.5E (UK), so is the width equivelant to EE since UK sizes are about 1/2 size smaller than US?

Will be dropping by their store

I find that width approximations are that, at best, particularly for wider lasts. It's really best to try them on in person, since you can.

Thanks for the site again. Surpirsed it never popped up in Google searches.

I'm going in this week for to try on a particular pair. What are thoughts and opinions/facts on these Carmina shoes? My knowledge on shoes lack heavily. I just want a great shoe, comfort is paramount followed by quality and looks. And will these go with gray pants and navy blue pants? They go with a suit? They appear to have a thick leather, not sure if that's suitable with suits?

Carmina is a very good brand. Frankly, it may be one of the best quality-to-price ratio for a goodyear welted shoe. The shoes are typically in shapes and leathers that are very much suited to wearing with a suit. And the one you chose, with closed lacing, is especially apppropriate for wear with a suit.

If you want to know about the brand, and people's experiences with it, and the different offerings, I would go here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/241469/carmina-shoes-official-thread-reviews-advice-sizing-etc/0_50
It's long, so you may want to read it in chapters!

We are glad you found us. The Carmina brown cap-toe pairs well with navy and grey trousers, they will look even better with a suit.
Feel free to stop by the shop to try on a pair, we would be happy to assist you.

I have a suit like the one below and I wear shoes about that color with them and I think they look great. However neither are very traditional.
