Can these faux buttons be cut to make them workable?

I read a previous thread about cutting faux buttholes to make them workable. I read that only certain buttonholes can be cut open. In other words, most faux buttonholes would fall apart if actually cut open and used. This is a hand tailored suit. It is not a cheap suit, so I am curious if the faux buttonholes can be cut open. Can anyone confirm if these buttonholes can be cut open? Sorry for the crappy cellphone pics.

You will have to ask your tailor, but they appear to have a real gimp and therefore could easily be made functional.
Beautiful fabric.

Yep, go ahead. I believe it is called making a silk purse out of a sow's ear!
