Can patch pockets be moved easily?

They can. You may see some old stitch marks below where the pocket was. If there is any horizontal pattern in the cloth, you will lose the pattern matching and would advise against moving the pocket. Better to be too close to the bottom than mismatch the pattern.

In ye old days, they would remove patch pockets before laundering, and sew them back on when all parts of the coat were clean.

That may not be relevant to your question but what the heck.

Ask yourself, Is it worth the risk for only half an inch? I suppose this is what some men ask before they go in for a certain type of operation ...

Along the above lines... (so to speak), if I have a patch pocket jacket that's way too big in the waist and want it taken in, the problem I see is that the pockets move quite far back (around my hips), can they be moved closer to the front?

Thanks

Edit - Anyone?

If I may... little bump?
Thanks
