I am going to talk to some people in the restaurant industry about doing some business; and need to come off as well aware of the scene - and fit in. Usually my day to day attire is Paul Stuart suits and spread collar shirts. I would like to get my hip-mack on... so try this on for size: Tod's black chelsea boots (barneys warehouse sale) RL flat front grey flannel pants (polo.com sale) What to wear on top? Jacket? Turtle neck sweater? Button down shirt? Help assemble this 'downtown' look please. thx. [IMG]

Sounds like the time and place for a black turtle-neck sweater.

The outfit Mr. McQueen has on in your avatar would be a good start. Whatever you do, no buttondowns.

I think you risk being something of a caricature wearing a black turtleneck "downtown."

(But then again you could throw on a beret and enter winking.)
