Wow, I've never seen light jeans pulled off so well. I'm usually against any sort of light colored denim.

You missed tweed weather :) While it was nice and cool about a month ago, it feels like winter has ended already. It has been 70+ for 2 weeks now and barely hit 60 today due to rain. Once the storm moves on I would expect it hit back to the 70s again.

I would suggest you just pack a wool jacket/blazer and a scarf, it would be easier.

Google Los Angeles (or Anaheim) weather. You'll see it gets plenty cold enough for tweed jackets or wool overcoats, esp. at night. There's a reason restaurants have space heaters on their patios.

And just what would you know about it? I freakin' live here and I wear tweed whenever it's cool enough to make it comfortable. All you East Coast swells shut the f*** up about what it's like in SoCal when you've never been here.

+1 to OlSarge, who lives only 4 or 5 miles inland from me. To say that tweed is too hot for the Greater Los Angeles area or "too formal" is just preposterous. I spend most of yesterday and today wearing my 15.5-ounce Harris tweed jacket, even indoors, and I sure wasn't too hot. I also recently got a jacket from Chan made from a 600-gram Porter & Harding Hartwist tweed, and it is very comfortable in temperatures lower than 68 F or thereabouts. At the moment, I have seven tweed jackets. Four are pretty lightweight (360 grams). On the heavier side, I have the two aforementioned jackets and a 400-gram P&H Thornproof Donegal. Frankly, I wouldn't mind getting a couple more jackets in the 600-gram range.

I am not sure how a tweed jacket is "too formal" for anything unless you are planning to frequent biker bars or similar rough venues.

It's a dry low to mid 70s here. Tweed would be too hot.

I would not advise it. Tweed feels comfortable onlyin really cold weather.

Inland probably on a very limited basis. Santa Monica, Carmel, etc. etc. almost every evening in winter. Sometimes even in June.

This is someone I know well, and they lived in OC for 20+ years, I think that is long enough to advise.

you can only wear tweed in certain neighborhoods of LA, in other neighborhoods the other gangs will kill you.
