Can I wear a blazer w/ AE lace-up dress boots?

I have a nice pair of Allen Edmonds Dalton Wing tip Dress Boots (walnut color). Can I wear them w/ nice jeans, a dress shirt & blazer? I read somewhere that you shouldn’t wear a suit w/ lace-up dress boots. Thx. See pic of boots.

The suit with lace up dress boots is a "no brown in town" like rule (in my opinion; though where I live oxfords area rare choice even among suit wearers), also there are closed laced dress boots (balmoral boots) that are just as formal a oxfords (there are some nice threads with pictures, "Balmoral Boot Appreciation" most recent post shows some worn with nice trousers).
