Basically I need an all around coat I can wear with a T-shirt or with a sports coat under it. Here is what I'm thinking of:
cooatlb2.jpg
Ebay link Can I realisticly pull it off? I want to go for the modern European look and NOT the look of the philosphy department kids who wear black trenchcoats down to their shins and look ridiculous. It looks like it will hit about the same as in the picture which is fine, but if it's longer it will be wierd, I can't exactly tell. Lots of pictures in the ebay link.. Thanks for any input you have!

Your post is very confusing. If I didn't see your second post asking for help after 50 views I would have clicked out too like the 50 before me. You've got too many big pictures that don't fit on my screen and one is quite blurry.

Your asking if you can pull something off and your not even wearing it. This is difficult, usually critique threads feature people wearing the garment and ask for fit advice. Your asking us, based on measurements if something is going to fit you, this is difficult. You can check the measurements your self since you know yours and you know the jacket.

Okay forget the fit, do you all agree with GreenPlastic on the style of the jacket?

Also what "statement" are you talking about?

It wasn't exactly limited once the show aired..And I think wearing that scarf is a dumb idea when every girl watches that show.

I know. Unfortunately, I bought that scarf in the J Press store and did not realize that it was on that show until later. I feel a bit like an ass wearing it.

I like it. BR's got a similar one with a removable wool lining and a cotton shell, it should be great for spring/fall and even in rain. It actually had a decent, slim cut too IMO. I was eyeing it but didn't want to pay the $275 retail. I think we're looking for the same kind of thing. If I see anything else similar I'll let you know. Probably checking Burlington CF later this week.

Personally I prefer a dark navy, like midnight. It eliminates the risk that you'll be associated with social outcasts. Besides, there are probably more college-age guys with black peacoats than navy or gray ones.

I like it, but NO TIE OR WHITE BELT!!! Should you choose to wear a tie, don't go black on black.

The price of the coat you posted is as good as I've seen, but I just like to try on my clothes if it's an unknown band.

I see, it's not bad looks pretty cool. I think if it was belted it would be a nice touch but that's just me. Let me know if you find anything at BCF

I like both the coats. The first one seems fairly slim fitted for such a coat, which is a nice change. I don't know why some above mentioned you shouldn't wear it with formal wear. Last I checked this doesn't entail T-shirts. So that will not be a problem. Thing I don't like is that it looks a kinda softish fabric. And it won't be very warm.

By the way to me it looks like the second one has epaulettes as well, but maybe that is just the picture.

Fitting in is so 2008.

FYI: I don't get the emo crap, but maybe that's because I'm not from the states. I did watch Southpark though and looking at that the rest of the outfit will make all the difference.
