I'm short. It's hard to find my size in S so my sleeves are always big.
Let's see if i can explain. See where the sleeves open, where the buttons are? I just have a bit of that and the sleeve is still long. Can that be redone? Will it alter to much the sleeve form?
It's not my image. It might help visualize what i'm saying

Yeah, dude. This is alterations 101. The only issue arises if the jacket has working sleeve buttons.

If the jacket's body is still too long, then you're in trouble, but sleeve length is one of the most basic alterations.

I'm not sure you understood my question.
My buttons are already really up in the sleeve my sleeve is cut already to the black line. The question is can the green line part be redone? because the fabric goes inside and i don't think you have that extra fabric upper in the sleeve.

Nope, misunderstood. Sorry. Posting in the tailor's thread is a good idea.

Yes, it can be done but it would look very ugly. You might have to consider shortening them at the shoulders, which is more costly and difficult.

Actually, it can be done quite easily. Shortening the sleeves that far usually requires slimming down the sleeve and you can gain the extra fabric to recreate the vent. Still takes a relatively skilled alterations person, but not of the same level as shortening from the shoulder. I've done many of them myself and I'm not a tailor, though I am an experienced sewer and quilter.

I guess i have to ask about that option to the person who makes my alterations, the jacket i'm thinking of has probably got enough sleeve width for that, but the slevees are really round it's an isaia, i guess they really shaped them. I'm afraid i'll loose that, and that is why i don't want someone messing with the shoulders.

About MTM: I'm affraid that in the end it doesn't turn out better than an off the rack. Also need to learn more to understand what to ask for.

If it's an Isaia, why don't you bring it back to the shop? I'm sure they would have an Inhouse alteration tailor.
