Like I've said in another thread, everytime I wear Chucks they hurt like a ***** after 5 minutes.

Is it possible to buy something like at Target that can be stuffed in the shoes that will make them as comfortable as more expensive shoes like Nikes?

Is that what gels are for?

I mean not necessarily more comfortable, as they're fine already, but just something that will make it so my feet don't ache after 4 minutes

1. Nike makes Converse shoes. Chucks are Nikes.
2. Buy a different shoe or get an insole.
3. Please stop making new posts for every question that pops into your head--especially ones that have already been answered in other threads which you have started.

Umm yeah ok but that doesn't make chucks nikes. chucks are chucks.. plain ol pad with canvas on it. When I refer to Nikes I'm talking about more cushioned shoes.
3. bite me, you don't have to read them

I'm fairly flat-footed, so they feel comfortable to me. Those who aren't flat-footed find them uncomfortable because they have flat soles. As far as I know there is only one solution, Insoles.

Like gels? is there a particular kind?

Will they make it so I can wear them for hours at a time without foot troubles?

You'll need to research/get someone else's opinion for specifics. I've had no reason to get insoles so can't help you there, sorry.

Converse make insoles. Buy them. Use them.

I have high arches and a high instep, and I find Chucks very comfortable. I like their extreme flexibility after they're well broken-in. What I find uncomfortable with some shoes (particular stiff leather boots) is the pressure they can place on my instep and the top of my toes when walking. The minimalism of Chucks suits my feet well, even without any special insoles.

I had the same problem with chucks as well as boat shoes but then i just got some gel insoles and problem solved. I work on my feet all day on concrete and the first time i wore boat shoes to work i was practically limping by the end of the day. gels took care of that.

I'd be interested to hear from people who exhibit a natural stride and whether they have the same pain.

I find Chucks to be insanely comfortable once they are broken in. Tried wearing them with insoles and found them to be really tight.

Hurt where exactly? There are many types of foot pain.
You may have high foot arches and need to where shoes with arch support. Chucks have flat insoles (ie zero arch support).
There are a whole bunch of orthopedic insoles you can use...

You will probably need to get a thin 3/4 insole. There won't be enough room inside the Chucks to put a thick full-length orthopedic insole like the Superfeets since you can't remove the existing insole from Chucks (it is glued).

Yeah, I think that is pretty much unavoidable considering how they are made. My Vans do the same thing.

I have your answer Get Purcell's with removable insoles (they are very thick). Remove said insole, insert an orthotic such as Superfeet Dress 3/4 length, or my personal choice, the old Phase 4 (can be found online as Walkfit). Now insert a normal thickness insole from another shoe. Voila. I have flat feet and problems with my heel slipping, and with this setup, they're perfect.
