Can anyone recommend a place to buy a sized bow tie?

I'm looking for a self-tie, sized bow tie in a 16 1/2.

This is for a formal affair, so it should be silk, grosgrain, faille, or barathea.

I don't want something adjustable.

Can anyone recommend a place to purchase this?

I just received my fixed length grosgrain tie from Linda at mainebows.com. Check out the site and send her an email if you're interested n

Great customer service, quality and good prices too. Highly recommended (I also got matching cummerbund).

Maybe it's me, but I'm having trouble finding their plain black bow tie. Why make it so hard to find?

I had the same problem. You have to click on black/what at the top and then click the "next" button at the bottom of the screen to scroll through all of them.

Try mainebows.com - she made me a custom length one in satin and had it to me in less than a week.

Is it because a winged collar shirt can't hide the strap of the bow and the slide adjuster on an adjustable bow? Or does it have to do with the shape/size of this particular bow?

Some other reason perhaps?

Because it doesn't have an adjuster and a wing collar shirt won't cover an adjuster.
