Can anyone explain the features on this jacket to me?

Pic 1 - this little tag of material attached to a button tucked behind the collar on the left breast - just above the lapel. I removed it as soon as I realised I could and have never worn the jacket with it attached - I just don't know what it's for.

Pic 2 - inside the jacket, on the left side (when wearing). The three inside pockets on their own seem excessive enough. But then there is the other flap of material that is sewn in, with two more buttoned pockets. Only one is visible here as the other tucks under the lining. They are thin, narrow pockets, each about large enough to carry a 12-bore cartridge but I don't think that's what they're for on this jacket.

Pic 3
On the other side, another piece of material of the same size is sewn into the lining. This one doesn't have pockets cut into it, but it's existence is just as puzzling to me.

The first is called a throat latch, I think. There should be a button behind the right collar/lapel to which to button this tab. Meant for inclement weather but probably more ornamental than functional on this jacket.
Are there openings to the other two pockets from the outside hip pockets?

I did spot the button on the right collar and guessed this was intended to hold the other end of the "throat latch" - but doing so seems to pull the two sides of the jacket together in a rather scrunched and inelegant way, so I wondered if it was for something else!

And no, I don't think there are openings as you suggest.

In your second photo, is the narrow pocket big enough for a cigar? It could be for that, or for eyeglasses. The bottom pocket on the second photo looks like it is sized for a mobile phone?

The material of the coat looks casual - appropriate for travel. I wonder if the intent of the internal button pockets for is for security - i.e, keep things there instead of in your wallet.

The top thin pocket may also be a pen pocket. I have a pen sized pocket put in all my bespoke suits and jackets.
