Can anyone authenticate these Diesel jeans?

The eBay auction right here. I've compared the pics with those on the Diesel website, and they're pretty close, except for some stitching on the pocket corners - I've also asked for some additional pictures, including one of the tag, just in case the ones in the auction are stock pics. I'll see if I get a response. Thanks guys. (In the event they're authentic, I call dibs.)

Don't do it. I can get you some Seven's if you'd like for less, but Diesel's are notoriously easy to fake well - I've even seen some rather suspect Diesels at Filene's Basement. The only really "safe" places to buy them at are stores that deal directly with Diesel.

Where would Filene's come by fake Diesels?

Since I've opened a jeans thread...

Do Seven - or any other 'premium' jeans brand - have the stylistic equivalent of the PDC LTD/ICN/Levi's 520? Kind of a semi-relaxed-fit flare?

That's by far my favorite cut of jeans, and I'm running low on options, it seems - and I'd need a 28 or 29 waist, unless they're really slim-fitting.

I don't know, but I was *very* skeptical about quite a few pairs of the jeans I saw there recently . Filene's buys out retailers, and not all retailers nor their suppliers are scrupulous (i.e. don't trust a shop just because it is brick and mortar.) Paper trails can easily be faked. If you want to see fake Diesel, go to any number of shops on Hollywood, between Hollywood and Vine. There was one shop in Pasadena, recently defunct, whose managers/owners admitted to me one time that they had sold fake Diesel unknowingly. Buyers beware. If it sound too good to be true, chances are...

Seven has a relaxed-fit jean that may be what you're looking for, but may be too relaxed. Â I couldn't comment with authority on the fit relative to PDC etc. I'm a 36 waist in most pants, and seven's 34 in this cut fits me fine; I own a less whiskered wash than the one on Nordstrom's site (34 diesels fit me fine as well). Also, is it me or does this guy type like Ali G speaks:

Good idea (as much as it pains me to promote non-North American denim brands.) Also, doesn't Tsubi (local is probably cheaper) make a model like that. I don't have extensive experience with the brand, but the denim seems quite decent.

I see the denim gurus have weighed in. The Nudie Jeans look great... Anywhere in the US non NY/LA where Nudie Jeans might be available? Also, are they Evisu-pricey or just PDC-pricey?

Eh, probably not much there for a 34-36 waist anyhow...

Huh? I think that the most "premium" makers make sizes between 28 and 40, with the cuts designed to fit people between 30-34 optimally. BTW, there are lots of good Seven jeans at the Boston Filene's Basement right now, ufortunately, mostly in sizes 30 and 40, though there are (or were) a couple of 33's bootcut in the blue black wash with the Rogan like pocket detail (got a pair - loathe to say it, but the more expensive, heavier weight (12 ounce) Seven's are far more durable than their (more expensive) Paper Denim and Earnest Sewn counterparts.) There were also some in the 28, 29 sizes.

BTW, remember how I said that True Religion was great a while back. Apparently too great. It's 6 months later, and I've decided that they've officially become wanker wear, the choice of the more "street" metrosexual. Snd the washes are becoming more and more unwearable. They may well become the next Von Dutch. It's too bad. I guess that Paper Denims are still it for me (though Earnest Sewn is pretty well cut.) And Levi's Premium uses the most brittle denim out there. Ever since the "coveted" wash (which I loved) I haven't seen anything out there really great. I had a pair of Ozzy's, but they ripped too easily. C'mon guys. You're *Levis". You invented jeans. Can't you come up with a better premium line?

    LA Guy,

what are your thoughts on JP D'amage?

I picked up a couple pairs of these, and I like the washes a bit more than PDC and the cuts seem great too, not sure about long term durability though.

I like them. The cuts are terrific, though some of the denim (Rode Hard, for example) is really thin, even compared to the lightweight denim that Rogan and Paper Denim jeans use. The Ice wash would be the only type I would bet would be durable (seems like a soft 12 ounce denim to my feel and heft.) I prefer the Paper Denim washes and contrast stitching (especially the stitching,) but certainly like the J P D'amage washes as well.

Please, I beg of you to go try on the Seven jeans before you buy them. Unless you have a particular body shape (narrow hips, little-to-no ass), you will look awful in them. The seat is cut so that if it is filled, it looks like a 35-year old woman's ass, with a little bit more sagging at the crotch. They look very tastelessly feminine, but in much larger proportion than the sorority girls you see walking around in them with stilettos. Not everyone looks crappy in them though, and coincidentally every guy I've ever seen wear them right has been Asian.

PDC, on the other hand, has a perfect fit around the seat. It's really hard to buy anything but PDC, but hopefully in the future I will be so adventurous as to get some APC jeans which look very appealing to me.

    I also highly endorse Nudie.

I don't know if they're available outside the NYC/LA areas, but they definitely come in sizes 34 and 36. They're priced more like Paper Denims, about $176 for the Regular Ralf model. (Sidebar: the unwashed Ralf model looks and fits great, though I wonder how different they are from shrink-to-fit 501s.)

Call up a store like Atrium (NYC) and see if they'll ship to you.

Oh, and I wouldn't buy those Diesel jeans. They look kind of fake to me.
