Can a too low back rise be altered?

I have just ordered some light stone chinos and the fit is very good everywhere but on the seat, where the seam is going up between my butt - the so called hungry butt syndrome

I believe this is because the back rise is too short (or more pessimistically perhaps my butt is too big). Can a too low back rise be altered by a tailor?

These are the chinos in question (but mine are light stone which have now sold out) - they are rather good otherwise

Alternatives are also appreciated should alterations not be possible
