Can a tailor change my shirt collars to a spread?

I am just recently realizing why I hate all my dress shirts except for one that I bought while in Paris. Its the collars. I have a bunch of new/newer shirts that aren't spread collars and now that I know that what I like is spread collars (never knew the term) can I take all of my existing shirts to a tailor and have them adjusted? Not sure I can describe the collars on the ones I have already, but I've gotten them all at Jos. A. Banks or Mens Warehouse. Typical stuff...more material than a spread would have.

Thanks for any help with this.

I don't think you can have the collars themselves cut to a new shape, but you could have them cut off and replaced completely, or the shirts converted to take detachable collars?

the number could be higher.

I would guess that at least 75% of MTM/custom shirts have fused collars
