Can a tailor alter a double cuff shirt into a button cuff?

I recently bought 5 shirts from T.M. Lewin out of the UK and I'm very excited since they have the wide collar and slim fit I like (not to mention shorter tails which I think is brilliant) but they only offer this shirt in double cuff.

Sometimes I don't mind the french or double cuff, but I prefer a straight button cuff. Is this something a tailor could alter fairly easily?

Are you planning to wear this shirt without tucking it into your trousers? Because that's the only reason I can see someone wanting short tails. Just wondering.

Yes I am. I'm a grad student and it will be nice to have the flexibility to where these with a suit or with kakis, untucked at school.
