cafe bike?

i dont even have a motorcycle licence but how hard is it to get one/learn how to ride a bike? i live in LA and though a car would be what i'm looking for right now what do you guys think about a cafe racer?

I don't know about LA, but here in Chicago, the state offers free motorcycle courses that allow anyone who pass them to practically bypass the State exam. I too am wanting to learn how to ride as well as looking into Cafe Racers. I'd love to buy a old CB or some sort and try to restore it but I have no prior motorcycle repair knowledge.

It's really easy to get a moto license, I got one when i was 17. If you're over 18, it costs like 300 bucks for the MSF course and then you just gotta go pass the written exam at the DMV.

If you live in LA get a anything between a ninja250 - sv650...

if you get bored after like 6 months, buy a bigger bike then.

I don't want a ninja but why do you suggest that? I would mostly want a cafe for the look and to cruise not to be a douchebag show off doing wheelies

I suggested a ninja250 because it's cheap and easy to ride. Not to mention it retains its value fairly well so you sell it whenever you outgrow it.

No it doesn't. I suggested with ninja250 because it's cheap, easy to ride, and you're very unlikely to kill yourself on it. From the sound of your first post, you've never ridden a dirt bikes or anything, so a ninja 250 is a good choice. If you've ridden dirt bikes then you can start on a bigger bike, maybe try a ninja500 or sv650.

If you wanna make your own cafe bike, (buy a 80s/90s bike and strip it down), then by all means go for it. Just be careful as even the older bikes pack a **** ton of power and will take you kill you if you don't have good throttle control.

You can mod-out a little Honda CB for not that much money and they usualy look and ride fantastic. Unless you want a crotch rocket or something...

The state MSF courses can fill up really fast, so make sure you sign up early. I personally would not ride a bike in LA, but if you are dead set on it, make sure its a bike that you can handle. Vanity only goes so far when you're splattered on the side of the road. Look at some of the SV 650 to Ducati Monster mods if you want something a little more stylish. Have fun and be careful.
