I'm considering getting a couple of fully bespoke suits from C&D and was wondering if anyone has any feedback/advice on using them.

I've seen a few other threads suggesting only going there if you can deal with John Deboise, however he is not listed as available for suit consultations. Presumably it is better to have your measurements taken by the person who is actually cutting the suit, so it would be preferable to have the initial consultation with the same person as the fittings? And if he is not available how do their other cutters measure up (if you'll excuse the pun)? They seem to have a new Head Cutter at the SR store called Stephen Allen - does anyone have any experience of him and would he be a suitable substitute if Deboise is unavailable?

    Thanks!

You must certainly be measured by a cutter from the firm you intend to patronise. There is much more to this than simple measures and a decent cutter would be asking you what you intend to do with the suit, establish figuration etc.

Such a cutter would be insulted were you to turn up with someone's' measures quite apart them not fitting his ways of working.

You need a full rapport with your cutter if your commission is going to be at its best.

Why have you opened a second thread when there is already a recent one: It certainly won't increase the responses and you can miss some unless you continually check both.

Jon DeBoise works out of their city location, I believe.

Am I the only one turned off by the name alone? Sorry, but I am. I get images of hipsters in super tight suits floating through my mind.

And some might get the exact same pictures in their head and get turned on by it.

O dear... pay a little attention then comment.

OP, just go direct and ask the questions.
