Wanted to get the thoughts of those who own and those who are hoping to own. Casual pants, dress pants, jeans?

I don't think I'd wear them with jeans, but I'm sure they'd go great with nice casual pants, dress pants, or a suit.

Why, with overalls, of course. After all, they're brown, which means they're farmer's shoes.

Seriously, it's a very dressy pattern. You could wear them with nice trousers, but that's as casual as I'd go. They'd also look good with sportcoats and suits.

Yes, yes, and yes. But I'm probably the exception when it comes to the jeans part.

On a side note, I received the 2004/2005 C&J catalogue today. There's a good 7 or 8 handgrade models not listed in my 2002/2003 catalogue or, for that matter, on PLAL.

Without the hole punching on the toe I think jeans would be fine. However, as they are sold in stores, I think Weymouths are too .... something .... fancy? .... for jeans. With suits, trousers, et cetera, no problem.

I think it depends on the style of the shoe. Polo RL, for example, recently offered a brown chelsea boot with a floating medallion (term stolen from Jcusey&#33

on the toe - if I saw it in my size, I would've bought a pair to wear with jeans and dress shirts. Barrett have a similar - but much further out of my price range - boot. The Weymouths are probably too dressy for jeans, but I guess you'll never know until you try. I'm thinking a very hip pair of boot-cut, dark distressed jeans could work - something 'sophisticated', but not some old faded 501s - more 'workwear'.

sorry, just pulling my foot out of my mouth. I didn't mean to group all shoes with medallions/toe punching as strictly dress shoes. Not by any means; one of my favorite pairs is a EG/RLPL Sussex/? with a floating, sort of horizontal medallion.

Which boots were these? EG-sourced RL?

I think they were from the mysterious Italian-made RL footwear line - no-one can quite put their finger on who actually makes them. Click for larger... There's a few pairs on eBay now - the "Frederick" - but none in my size. Â
