I know that there are a bunch of threads on this topic, but I'm selfish and want direct confirmation to my own request.... So, I'm in the market for a pair of Crockett & Jones Westfields on the 341 last. I currently wear 11.5D in Allen Edmonds on various lasts. I'd say I'm a smaller/thinner 11.5D as I also own a pair of SF Tramezzas in 11D that fit snug, but still fit well. With that said, what size should I order the Westfield in? I've read anywhere from sizing down 1/2 to 1. Seeing as how this is a pretty big purchase and I don't want to deal with the devastation of having to return them or sell them, I'd like to get it right the first time. Thanks for your help!!

Buy online from a reputable seller (plal, pediwear, bodileys) and exchange them for a different size if they don't fit.

That said, I would go with an 11E. You can always throw in an insole if they're a bit too big. I always go down 1/2 a size from US to UK with C&Js.

I was getting ready to ask the same question, but with the 337 in 11D. Thanks for beating me to the punch!

I was going to order from Plal as the price is better than Pediwear's. So, I understand the sizing down 1/2, but what's the reasoning behind going from D to E widths? Would getting an 11D be too small? I have long, skinny feet so I'd prefer to err on the side of slightly 'snug' rather slightly 'roomy'

Plal advised me to go down a full size. Send them an email and ask for their advice.

UK E is the standard width (like a US D)

I'll send plal an email and update this thread as soon as my new f-wear arrives.

Update:

Received the C&J Westfields today, 3/5 (ordered on 2/12).

The fit is CLOSE to being spot on...length is perfect, but the width...I could have probably gone to the next smallest width.

The shoes themselves are amazing looking...I'll try to post some pictures later.

What size did you end up ordering? I'm considering making a C&J purchase too and have delayed it because of the sizing issue. I'd love to know whether you went down a full size or a half size.
