I found them crazy expensive, but might have forked over for the 6 pair that I needed if fit was better and unfinished.

For now I am using my one pair in my just worn shoes and swapping them with the Woodlores as my shoe rotation dictates.

- GREAT IDEA

$75 isn't TERRIBLY expensive. I probably wouldn't buy them but I wouldn't call you an idiot for doing so. They are pretty nice.

Just for what it's worth - I like them for C&Js on the 337 last as I find them a much better fit than woodlores, but I don't think they're worth it on any other lasts. I also like that the little brass plaque matches the shoes, but I'm pretty sure that's just OCD.

Most of my trees are from Bexley, when buying 5 or more you get them for about 15€ a piece.
That's by far the best value for 3 Piece one can get in Western and Central Europe I think
Considering shipping fees and maybe even customs when getting them shipped over the oceans the value may of course decrease.
However I have come to th conclusion to say "thanky you, but no" when I am offered shoe trees in shops...even when buying expensive shoes (except they would be lasted and/or hollowed).
They usually want 45-60€ for trees that are identic with those I can order from Bexley.

So they never get dry. Do they get moldy?

Vass trees are definitely lasted:

JL Prestige trees are lasted, JL stock trees are made on the 8695 last. I do miss the hinged trees from RLPL:

Holy cow, you're right: I just pulled out my Fs in both the spring and three-piece, Us, and 3636s...all different.

Vass just kicks ass.

The hinged EG/RLPL trees rocked...almost as nice as my Saint Crispin's trees.

All EG owners should aspire to them. Although I did find that my Top Drawer sprung lasted trees fit better than my hinged lasted trees for the same last. In all the rest, hinged lasted EG trees pwn all.

I love how hinged, lasted trees snap into place. It is one of those little sensual pleasures.

My C&J trees are different to the ones offered by most internet retailers and I purchased them being told they were lasted trees (for the 337 Bottier last). Does any body know if this is true? I certainly can't find any internet sites offering the ones I have or any information on them, either.

They're calling it the "bottier last" now? lulz.

Those look different from most C&J trees. Did you buy a special style? They sold three special styles a few years ago for some special occasion for which they made trees that were sprung but supposedly lasted. I think they looked like those.
