Those look pretty cool, is the color stated as burgundy or brown?

On the Robert Old site, I found this pic

I'm looking at possibly buying a pair of Coniston or Skye boots. Can someone out there that has both Aldens (barrie last) and C&J (325 lasts) tell me about the differences?

The barrie fits me a bit on the wide side and I have to get a C width usually. Mostly due to the fact that I have a low volume (narrow) foot and the laces completely close up on a D width.

I'm hoping that the 325 last will be a better option for a low vol, narrow foot.

Thanks!

What models come on the 324? I don't think I've seen it.

I have a really thin foot (not much meat),a high instep, and a narrow heel. I too wear a C width in the Barrie. I have a pair of C&J for polo on the 325 last and they are definitely a more narrow fit. The listed size is US 7D and they fit me much better than a 7C Barrie. In fact, I need to wear socks on the more narrow end of the spectrum to make room in the toe box.

Several Peal models, C&J Chalfont and Ladbroke. Probably others.

not much love for 358 here? I like 337/348/358 but only 358 fits me well, 337 sometimes, depends on the particular style, 348 is just too naroow.

Ooohh. That's really good to know. Sounds like the 325 will be a good fit for me. When you say it's listed as 7D, is that a US D width or UK? I know most of the 325 are fitting E, so basically narrower than a US D. I think a fitting F would be a US D.

Please don't take my word for fact since I'm recalling what I heard on this forum: These are listed by RL and C&J as US 7D. I think the consensus is these are a UK 6.5E.

Without busting out a ruler I'd say the UK 6.5E C&J 325 is around 1/8 of an inch longer (overall) than a US 7C Barrie last. It's also somewhat narrower overall, and especially in the toe box.

No worries. I appreciate all the info. I'm just trying to narrow (no pun) it down. I just usually have the issue of laces being all the way tightened.
