A little while back I inquired in the difference between a 10D in AE and the equal version in the CJ 337 last.

Mostly everyone said that I should purchase a 9E. What if I move to last 348? does the 9E recommendation still stand?

Thanks.

Please visit a shop and check out the different sizes and lasts of C & J:
the change from a 337 to a 348 is not only mathematics.

The last has to correspond to your own feet:
I can wear a 337 in UK-8 but the last 348 is to small for me - UK-8.5 & last 348 doesn't fit fit at the heel.

TRY IT ON, please.

If it's not possible to try it on ask Shyam Doshi at plal.com if you can order two sizes at once. Send back the one that doesn't fit. Assuming he carries the model you're after of course.

I find it somewhat unethical to try on shoes at shops where I have no intent of buying... Also, I live in Montreal, I don't believe anyone carries C&J's here...

So, generally speaking the 337 is longer and wider..?

I don't share or see any necessity in your moral qualms. However, your practical obstacle is more relevant here anyway.

The 348 is narrower through the toe box. I'm not sure it's any shorter.

Yes, the 337 is a little bit wider.
The lenght of the last doesn't matter because the effective length of the shoe depends of it's design or style.

I think the 337 is much wider and maybe a tad shorter than the 348. I wear the same size in both lasts. I believe that is also what Shyam reccommends.

I asked Shyam the same thing a while back in regard to Hallams. Here is is response . . .

......The Hallams will fit one eighth to one quarter's of a size tighther, particularly in the width. Most of our customers opt for the same size since their present last 337 shoes run a bit generous in fit. If your Belgraves fit tight to snug, consider half a size up otherwise stick to 8 in Hallam.

Hope that helps . . .

Good morning!

I want to buy the 348th block. What size to choose?
the block 337 at a rate of 7 is almost ideal. Only a heel at me very narrow. Therefore in a heel on width it is very free. But in a sock on width end-to-end.
the block 341 at a rate of 7 draws in. In a heel and on the center for width it is excellent. But in a sock on width presses a little finger.
