I like them both, but prefer the darker chestnut color for a full brogue. Those Barker Black captoes are awful and they look even worse in person.

I have the BB Archdales's in chestnut and they are beautiful. And even better if you find them for less than $300 ($200

I also have the Archdales & they are very nice. I especially love the soft leather. Here's my pair:

I am decently well versed on finding C&J at deep discount, but know nothing about BB. Where can the BB's be purchased at such a discount? For $300 [or even less] I would probably pick those up over the Cliffords (which are currently on my to-buy list).

I have Cliffords, and find them a very comfortable and elegant shoe. Barker Black I've only seen not owned so can't really offer a comparison I'm afraid. They seem very nice to me though.

put both pair in front of me at the same price and I would choose Clifford all day.

Yep I have seen it. It's a nice shoe. I like the Clifford better though.

Thanks, gents. I'd be curious to see the shoes side by side. Anyone own both?

I also like the last of the Archdale (have seen it in person in Holt Renfrew, Vancouver), even though I own a pair of Clifford.
