Anyone have experience with this last? I take an 11.5/12 D in virtually all EG lasts, and an 11 E in Lobb. Grenson for PS = 12 D (American).

The shoe I want only comes in E widths. So am I better off with 11 or 11.5?

Thanks.

This is a tough call to make with out knowing the details of your feet and your fitting preferences. You may be able to go either way here.

I own the C&J Radstock on the 341 last. I bought the size 11 E. For reference, I wear Alden Plaza and Copley lasts in a US size 11.5 D and they fit me very well. I also wear the Grenson 96 last in a UK size 11 F, and that is also a great fit.

Since the above Alden lasts run a little longer than the average US lasts, I would put all these shoes at about a US size 11.8 D.

In your case, I would guess you would probably be a UK 11 E in the 341 last.

I tried a Grenson Paul Stuart in a US size 12 D and found it too narrow. Since you can wear this shoe in this size, you may find the 341 in a UK 11.5 E is too wide.

The 341 last is full fitting in the instep and heel, and a little narrow fitting in the toe area. If you require a lot of toe room, you may need the 11.5 E and the addition of an inner sole to make this last work. If toe room is generally not an issue for you in most shoes, than the UK 11 E may be just fine for you.

Hope this helps.

I wear a UK9D in Grenson for PS and a UK8E in C&J 341 and they fit roughly the same for me.

I would get an 11.5 myself.

<insert all the usual caveats here>

What shoe?

On the EG 202 I have a 12/12.5F, an E width would be perfect, no V at the laces
On the Grenson 107 I have an 11.5F which is snug & perfect, slight V at the laces
On the C&J 341 I have a 12E which is slightly roomy with no V at the laces
On the C&J 348 an 11.5E fit snugly but nice with a medium V at the laces

If I could go back, I would probably get the 341 in size 11.5E although I doubt I would be able to walk in them all day without the slightest discomfort as I did with the 12E.

If you like your shoes snug at first try the 11E. On the 341 the E width is more generous than a US D width.

Re: 341
It has an elongated toebox simimlar to the 348 though not quite as wide through the forefoot. If you have narrower than average feet (between C & D) then you could probably opt for the Lobb sizing. The instep is rather average in the D widths specified for Barney's.

FWIW I wear:
Grenson: UK7.5
CJ325: UK7.5
CJ248: UK7.5
CJ337: UK7
CJ341: UK7
EG/RL89: Instep too large
EG888: UK7.5
EG202: UK7
Lobb8000: UK7
Lobb7000: Too wide

I would go with the same size as your EGs, without knowing more. Especially since you seem to wear the same EG size no matter the last (same as I do)

341 is not a tight fitting last, just keep that in mind.

For C&J 341 would say keep to your EG size in UK terms

If any helpful:
Grenson 107 - UK7F
Church 108 - UK7F
Church 73 - UK7F
Tricker's 4537 - UK7(5e)
C&J348 - UK7E
C&J360 - UK7E
C&J341: UK7E
EG888 - UK7E
EG202 - UK7E
