C&J 238 last - fitting issues?

I usually take a size 10 E in most of their shoes, but I can't do the 238: too tight at 10 E, too big at 10.5 E. I wonder if anyone else has had similar problems? To be honest, I'm not keen on the 'fluted' last - they should have made it on the 341 last like the jodphur boot. For the OCD shoe nerds, you'd have two chestnut boots on the same last, alongside the benchgrade 341 stuff - if you own lots of their stuff.

Ps. I think it may be an issue for C&J too. When I was in the shop trying them on they trotted out what seemed to be a well worn question about the fit. You immediately think there's an issue there.

I have the same issue and consequently selling a pair on B And S. They just seem too short in 11e whereas other lasts 358 337 are just fine for me. I guess they must be perfect for someone who finds these lasts not right!

Odd really - I fit most lasts. I had trouble with the Grenson's 64 last, which is quite roomy, and the 2161 Tricker's is a bit odd. The 238 is a narrow last and is a close fit across the vamp. I wish they had an F fitting, wide, which would do the job, but it's only available in E.

The 238 is indeed a bit on the narrow side. It fits me fine in my usual size, but my brother had to go up half a size.

I've seen it in an F fitting before, on an odd pair of oxfords they had at their Royal Exchange shop.
