Looking to buy a new suit with a budget of around 2K.
Heading to Neiman Marcus tomorrow to check out Canali - $2100, Armani Black label on sale $2200. Like the fact that I can try these on and get hands on.
Was also considering Corneliani - buy online for about $1600 - $1800.
Like the fact that these are all canvas lined and not fused (assuming the Armani is canvas). Also prefer the unfinished cuffs so I can have the functional buttons added.

Another completely different option, is buy 3 Emporio Armani or Paul Smith’s on sale for about $700. each. I know they’re are fused, but have a few Paul Smith and Armani Collezioni vintage 2004 - 2006 that I was pretty happy with - unfortunately most of them were the old 3 button jackets - Now they just take up space in my closet.

Any advice would be appreciated - Thanks!

Where do you live? And if you're willing to buy online, what is your timeframe for getting a suit?

I’m in NJ. Definitely willing to buy online - although have had a hard time finding a good tailor. Have been through two already and was not impressed - cost and workmanship. Out of all the dept stores, I trust the tailoring at Neiman’s the most.
Not really in a rush to buy, seems I buy most of my cloths, shoes in the winter - probably cause I’m bored. Ha

If you're willing/able to make the trip to NYC, there are some good places to check out: The Armoury on the UES and No Man Walks Alone (call ahead to make an appointment) have their own threads in the Classic Menswear section. I have no experience with J. Mueser but there seem to be generally positive reviews/comments here.

At this time of the year you might get a bargain at the end of the sales. You could get something really smashing for $2000 - TF, Zegna Couture etc. I'd be slow to buy something online. If you get something you can try on you can aim to find something that requires minimal alterations afterwards.

Thanks - I’m seeing some Zegna Trofeo suits for sale for around 2K. Is that still their mainline? Not diffusion line?

I think Trofeo refers to the type of wool used. Is that 2K sale price or full price? If it's sale price I would imaging it's their higher-end line and would be well worth checking out.

Get Canali, theres a reason why the sales have increased a ton. Good quality for a decent price. Full canvas, cupro lined, nice fabric. Beautiful italian cut, very modern.

I have personally tried on TF, Zegna etc and I like Canali better in all ways

Try all of them and see which one suits you best. Though very similar TF suits me and Zegna doesn't. I have a coat, shirt and jeans by Canali which I love but their jackets/suits just don't suit me.
