Buying my first suit for a job interview

I bought a white long sleeved shirt and black suit pants. Now I need to buy a tie, blazer, and dress shoes. The problem is seeing that I bought black pants, that means I have to buy a black blazer/suit jacket and I'll look like I'm going to a funeral. I was attracted to the black colour because I'm buying a cheap suit and black looks luxury, but then I found out it's not ideal for a job interview. Is it better to buy things individually like I'm doing or to buy a complete suit? I'm new to wearing suits, and I've never worn a suit before. Can the black pants be paired with another colour suit jacket or is it better to buy a navy pair?

Tell us the occupation. Some places are very formal, others not so much. It is extremely hard to perfectly match trousers and jacket in that way. For what I do, I wear a blazer with contrasting trousers. What is wrong with getting a navy or charcoal suit? You have options

It's a call centre job. A blazer with contrasting trousers? Never heard of that. Every time I've seen someone in a suit it's all in one colour. Judging by the prices on Google Shopping it's $500 for a whole suit.

I had a bad experience once. I went to an interview for a scholarship for a university once and the dress code was "smart casual". I came there in smart casual, and everyone was dressed in suits, and some came in tuxedos. Those dressed in tuxedos outdressed the others and received the scholarship.

A suit is jacket + pants made from the same fabric. Color alone does not make a suit. Black blazer is not recommended at all, especially since it will inevitably not match the fabric of your trousers.

Buy a complete suit. Dark navy would be perfect for interviews. If you can afford it go quality, if not at least get the fit right.

Agreed, I would go for a navy suit too. It would be perfect for all those occasions where you would have to wear it - job interviews, weddings, and funerals as well. It's the most versatile of all suit colors.
